As part of the IGCSE program, students are required to complete a Fieldwork Skills paper worth 27.5% of their final grade. In order to provide students with the best preparation for the paper, we intend to provide them with an opportunity to apply data collection and analysis skills in the field rather than solely from the classroom.
In partnership with Ecoventure Outdoor Education Services, we have tailored a program that will involve students applying fieldwork techniques across several of the Emirates. This trip is by no means compulsory but is highly recommended for any IGCSE Geography student.
Students will travel across the Emirates investigating coastal processes, wadi profiles, environmental quality analysis, dune succession, mangrove analysis, and implement a range data collection and analysis techniques.
We will stay at Ecoventure’s purpose-built Al Bariya base in the heart of the desert from the 15th-17th of January 2020. The total cost per student will be 1500 AED including transport, food, equipment, and accommodation. An itinerary and suggested kit list will be emailed to you.
