I graduated from Birmingham City University with a degree in Primary Education. Since I finished my degree I have worked with in a small village school teaching reception class, before moving to a large multicultural Infant School, where I taught Year 1 for two years.
Early education (EYFS and KS1) is an absolute pleasure to teach, and where I feel the most at home. It is wonderful seeing the children in my class make amazing progress throughout the year- not only academically, but within their own self-belief and confidence. I feel very lucky that every day I am able to be a part of helping children develop the foundation skills they will need to see them successfully succeed in their lives.
Teaching abroad, in a different country and culture, has been something I have been interested in doing since I qualified as a teacher. I am very excited to move to Abu Dhabi with my husband; it's different from our lives back at home in The Midlands, England but that is all part of the adventure. We enjoy travelling to new places and are looking forward to seeing all that the UAE has to offer. When I am not at school I enjoy cooking and I am trying to become a more skilled baker- something which my family and friends are happy for me to try out on them. I enjoy keeping active at the gym, but I am really looking forward to more opportunities to be outside exploring in the sunshine in Abu Dhabi.
