Anna Carey

Assistant Head of Secondary

Ms Carey completed her degree at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science and was then awarded a PGCE in Physical Education from the University of Ulster, Coleraine.

My name is Anna Carey and I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I completed my first degree at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science and then decided to embark on a career in teaching. I was awarded a PGCE in Physical Education which I completed at the University of Ulster, Coleraine.

After graduating I spent one year working in the top Grammar school in Northern Ireland (ss recognized by the Sunday times), teaching Physical Education and Biology. Last year I had the opportunity to work in a range of schools throughout Northern Ireland gaining lots of experience, working with students of differing abilities and ages.

My ambition is to broaden my horizons, both personally and professionally. I relish the opportunity to join the British International School, with a worldwide reputation for Teaching and Learning.

I have a huge interest in sport both as a player and spectator. I play Gaelic football for my Local team and have also represented Northern Ireland in Netball at underage level. I hold coaching awards in many sports including Gaelic Football, Netball, Mini Rugby and Camogie. I look forward to making a contribution to the teaching and extracurricular life of the school.
