I am from the Shetland Islands, Scotland and graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Physical Activity. I then went on to complete a PGDE in Physical Education at Strathclyde University.
I then spent one year teaching Physical Education at one of the highest attaining schools in Scotland. In 2019, I worked in one of Scotland’s sports performance schools, where I established the country’s first ‘School of Netball’ programme. I also worked very closely with feeder primary schools delivering lessons and their transition between primary and secondary school life.
I decided it was time to pursue my long-term ambition of teaching abroad, moving away from the Scottish weather to Abu Dhabi. I am excited to work in a school with such a strong global reputation, community and ethos, and to being involved in the wider school life.
Most of my hobbies involve watching and playing sport and keeping fit. However, netball is my main passion, having played from a young age and the opportunity to represent my country, but I will try my hand at anything! Outside of sport I enjoy socialising and dreaming of my next travel destination, each year I try to go somewhere new.
