I'm a proud Scot and started my career in Falkirk, Scotland. During my time as a class teacher, I gained a post graduate qualification in Special Educational Needs and the Modern Languages in Primary Schools Qualification. I advanced to Principal teacher managing early years and nursery. Prior to leaving Scotland to teach at The British International School, Abu Dhabi, I was acting Depute Head with management responsibility for the Special Needs Department.
My main reason for leaving Scotland to teach at The British International School, Abu Dhabi, was my desire for a new and exciting challenge, twinned with my love of travelling.
I am married and have three sons who live in Australia, China and London. My main hobby is travelling, particularly when it means a visit to see my grandchildren. I have visited most European countries, Africa, North America but my favourite trip to date involved visiting South America taking in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. I have been working in The British International School, Abu Dhabi, since August 2010 and I have had the opportunity to visit all the Emirates, Qatar, Thailand, India and China and hope to continue to broaden my travelling experiences. My other hobbies include reading, shopping and armchair football.
