I graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College Limerick, Ireland. I studied for my Masters in Education at University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas. There, I was also a member of a community of teachers; this gave me a wonderful insight into building community in the classroom.
I continued to work in Houston and gained experience working as part of a team of teachers at the same grade level. Returning to Ireland in September 2016, I taught in Dublin: initially as a shared learning support and then as a 3rd class teacher (year 4).
I identified strongly with BIS Abu Dhabi’s philosophy ‘that there is no limit to what your child can achieve’. I am passionate about professional development and see this opportunity to teach with BIS Abu Dhabi l as a wonderful opportunity to grow further as an educator to support my students to be the best versions of themselves.
I am originally from Galway, Ireland. I have a great interest in travelling, music, movies, sport, current affairs and going to concerts. I do not like cooking!
I really enjoy helping and meeting new people. I raised money and travelled to Honduras to teach PE to students during their summer camp for during the summer 2017. I volunteered on a summer camp for children with Spinia Bifida and Hydrocephalus during the summer 2019.
I have a wonderful family. I have one sibling Bryan and he is a year older than me; we are considered ‘Irish twins.’
