I was born and raised in a small, seaside town in the North East of England and I have had a passion for teaching and learning from a young age. After gaining Early Years Teacher Status and a degree in Early Childhood Studies at Teesside University, I went on to complete a school-centred initial teacher training programme and a PGCE in primary education. I was thrilled to secure a job teaching year 5 children in an outstanding primary school in England where I gained invaluable teaching experience.
I absolutely love my job! My aim is to instil a love of learning in children, providing them with fun, creative learning experiences and supporting them in their individual development to a positive and successful future. I love the philosophy of Nord Anglia Education and BIS Abu Dhabi in that they encourage children to reach for their dreams, try something new and to be ambitious. I’m extremely excited to be a part of the team at BIS Abu Dhabi and the global family Nord Anglia Education offers.
I consider myself to be a passionate, creative and enthusiastic person who loves life!
I enjoy sports, keeping active and love being outdoors, particularly in the lovely sunshine of the UAE! I am living in Abu Dhabi with my husband who has worked as a paramedic here since 2014. We both enjoy travelling to different destinations and experiencing the diverse culture of the UAE. Seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, skydiving in Dubai and paddle boarding in the Maldives are some of my holiday highlights. Most of all, I love spending quality time with my friends, family and my gorgeous dog, Buddy, who live in my hometown of Redcar in the North East of England.
BIS Abu Dhabi offers a new and exciting adventure for me, as I have never taught abroad before. I am excited to be a part of a diverse, global family who continually aim to improve in order to excite, inspire and motivate young minds.
