I graduated from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, UK, with a Bachelor of Education honours degree in 2010. I taught for 4 years in Scotland before I decided to fulfil my passion for travel.
In 2014 I went on an incredible adventure around the world. I visited many beautiful countries, met lots of interesting people and learned about different cultures and other ways of life. I gained valuable life experience and learned more than I thought was possible in a year. I taught in Australia and then moved to Singapore in July 2015, where I initially taught English to children aged between 5 and 14 before joining Nord Anglia Education at Dover Court International School in January 2016. I am very excited to have begun a new adventure in Abu Dhabi in and continue fulfilling my ambitions to teach and live internationally.
I enjoy keeping fit and healthy by attending fitness classes and running. I qualified as a Les Mills Body Pump instructor and ran the Singapore half marathon in 2 hours and 10 minutes in 2016. Recently, I took part in the Spartan Race as part of a team and amazingly, we finished in 2nd place! Not bad for a bunch of first timers. My goal for the next year is to run another half marathon in Abu Dhabi. I am a huge family person and speak to my mum, dad, brother and sister all the time, probably more than I would if I lived at home! They have just recently visited me in Singapore and are also looking forward to coming to Abu Dhabi for a holiday.
This school is different to all others I have worked at because it is open minded in terms of the curriculum being taught. BIS Abu Dhabi is committed to adapting the curriculum in order to provide its international students with the best possible learning experiences and results. It is up to date with the latest teaching strategies and offers excellent ongoing training for its staff.
