My professional life began with me working aboard ships as an Engineering Officer. I spent several years travelling and working in different countries before returning to England and beginning my Teacher Training.
Completing a four year Teacher Training Degree (in 2014) at the University of Sunderland, I moved to the South of England and found employment. Working in Basingstoke I have experience with Year Five and Six children, as well as the adventures that come with residentials. My time with these classes created a passion for teaching deep reasoning within the maths curriculum.
After several happy years, looking for every challenge in order to improve as a teacher, I made the decision to look aboard. After researching a wide range of nations around the world I made the choice that Abu Dhabi would be the most exciting prospect.
Ambition and curiosity drive my every choice. I have a natural drive to explore every new place or thought that I find. This has allowed for some strong bonds of friendship to be built over years and nations. It has also led to some of the most exciting moments of my life: sky diving in Newcastle, becoming a qualified Scuba Diver in Egypt and joining the Merchant Navy. Whilst these memories are amazing in themselves, they are made better by the friendships they have created. In my calmer moments I am passionate about being involved in as many sports as possible, although I have a preference for football.
BIS Abu Dhabi is a different to all the others I have at because it’s vision and ambition is achieved. The children are set immense challenges and push themselves to go beyond what is expected. The facilities are unmatched by anything I have come across, which leads to even more opportunities for the children. This means that staff are able to access the interests of as many children as possible and help everyone achieve and succeed.
