I completed my degree in English and Education Studies at Sheffield Hallam University in 2012. As part of my degree, I was required to work as teaching support within different schools around the Sheffield area, this inspired me to become a teacher and led me to study for my PGCE at York St John University. I completed my NQT year in Bucharest and took on the role of Computing Coordinator which I have thoroughly enjoyed. After working for four years in Bucharest, Romania as a primary teacher and computing coordinator, I felt it was time for a new adventure and new experiences which led me to apply for and accepting the role of primary teacher at BIS Abu Dhabi.
Being an expatriate child myself, and having attended various international schools, has provided me with an excellent understanding of the culturally diverse nature of international classrooms and allows me to relate to the children on a personal level. Highlights from throughout my life are the opportunities that I have been given to travel. I feel lucky to have family that live across the globe and regularly travel to Kota Kinabalu, to visit my Grandfather. It was here that I was able to achieve a personal goal of scaling Mt Kinabalu. I enjoy keeping fit and this was a great experience and worth training for. I am a lover of culture, languages, and the arts and take every opportunity to read classic or modern literature. I am very interested in technology and love being able to channel this within my job, as well as within my personal life
