Jonathan Boulton

History Teacher and Student Leadership Coordinator - Secondary

Mr. Boulton graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA Hons in History and completed a PGCE from Canterbury Christchurch University.

I taught History in the UK for 8 years in schools in South London. During this period I had been a Head of Department for 5 successful years as well as the school PGCE Coordinator; managing the training of graduate teachers from various London Universities.

I have previously taught in the Czech Republic, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia.

I am very passionate about my subject and have worked hard to increase student’s engagement in History through trips, events and clubs. Whilst teaching in London I have forged close links and done consultancy work with major institutions such as the Imperial War Museum, the British Library and the Museum of London.

I am enjoying being part of The British International School Abu Dhabi and teaching both the British curriculum and the IB programme, as well being in the Middle East.

I have a passion for sport, especially Rugby League having played and most recently refereed and coached. I’m a keen cyclist and runner and enjoy participating in various events. Whilst living in London I’ve also been involved in stand-up comedy with mixed success!
