I completed my BA (Hons) Business degree in Ireland before moving over to England in 2009 to undertake my teacher training. I completed my PGCE Business Studies at Portsmouth University and taught at a sixth form college in Southampton before taking on a new opportunity to teach in the Middle East in 2012. I was a business and economic teacher at a school in Abu Dhabi.
During the last academic year, I travelled to Australia, to experience a new challenge teaching within the public and private schools in Sydney whilst I completed my Masters of Special Educational Needs and Additional Learning Needs.
BIS Abu Dhabi community spirit was a big attraction to me along with how multi-international the school also is. As the world is becoming more globalised, I believe that students of today need the skills and abilities so that they are prepared for the real working world. As a business teacher, I want students to understand the business world and the big part they already play in it.
Moving to the Middle East has allowed me to gain the wanderlust bug. I have travelled to numerous countries over the last few years and love embracing new cultures whilst always returning home to spend time with my family in Ireland. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit and getting involved in 10KM runs.
