In 2010, I spent some time in the far east teaching English Language and pedagogy to trainee teachers. Shortly upon completion of this, I took up a post working commercially in the Middle East. It was during these years I fell in love with the region, its culture, and its people. It was also during this time that I decided to return to my first passion and seek a career teaching.
I love the classroom environment and being able to engage students with History in new and innovative ways. I loved exploring new areas of my subject and as such, completed a course qualifying me as a battlefields tour guide in Belgium. I also sought to bring in new technologies and I was the first teacher to trial the Augmented and Virtual Reality resources being developed.
In 2017 my wife and I, along with our young boys, decided to move to the Middle East and to raise our family here. This combines my two loves, of the profession and the region. When not working we will be making the most of the excellent family entertainment in the area. Once my children are in bed you will find me reading and researching new topics ready to bring to the classroom.
