As a secondary school student I always had a love of languages and when I attended University in NUI Galway, it was no surprise that I studied French and then Spanish. I spent a year as part of my degree (Bachelor of Arts International in French and Spanish) in Salamanca in Spain, which greatly helped improve my pronunciation and communication skills in Spanish.
After completing my degree, I spent a year in a secondary school in St Roch de l’Achigan in Quebec Canada, working as an English Language Assistant in a Francophone school. From there, I returned home to Ireland to complete my PGDE in Languages at the University of Limerick.
Having graduated in 2010, I have worked in many secondary schools around Ireland but decided that it was time to broaden my horizons and move to Abu Dhabi, where I have gained not only personal and cultural experiences, but professional experience too in teaching the British Curriculum.
I am a sociable person, and a big sports fan...although I might not be the most athletic at actually participating in said sports! My favourite sports to watch are Irish sports, namely Gaelic Football and Hurling. I also love reading; I have a wide interest in books from history to crime to romance novels.
