I started moving abroad in 2006 when my husband and I decided to take a new challenge with our first son. We moved to Norway where I worked for the French Institute. Three years later (with a second baby and a huge lack of sun!) we arrived in Abu Dhabi very impressed by this multi-cultural city. We didn’t know Middle East before and discovered and enjoyed life in UAE. I had various experiences here in international and French schools, and teaching private classes for local people.
At that time we also started to travel to South East Asia and explore that part of the world. In 2013 we had the opportunity to move to Myanmar (ex Burma). I taught in an international school in Elementary. I was also a voluntary teacher in a remote area of Yangon for people who couldn’t access language classes. Teaching in such a developing country had been a very interesting and a culturally enriching experience. We had three amazing years there but missed the UAE and our friends and moved back to Abu Dhabi, for a new adventure in a very familiar environment. In addition, teaching in a renowned British International school was one of my ambitions. I am thrilled to be part of BIS Abu Dhabi and the Modern Foreign Language department and to have my children studying in such a prestigious school.
Besides teaching and spending time with my family and friends, I have a passion for yoga. I am a certified yoga teacher and practice everyday. I like to study and deepen my practice on every aspect of yoga from nutrition to meditation. It is a long and rewarding journey that I enjoy sharing with people.
I also love languages and have learned the language of every country where I have lived, even if sometimes I stay at a basic level like in Burmese. It is now time to go back to Arabic!
