Lauren Robinson

Biology Teacher

Ms Robinson finished her Biology degree at Nottingham University, then completed her PGCE to qualify as a teacher. She also gained a Masters in Psychology and a counselling qualification.

After finishing my Biology degree at Nottingham University I decided to stay on and complete my PGCE to qualify as a teacher. Upon completion, I moved to London where I started working at Queen’s College. I initially started at Queen’s as a Biology teacher before becoming a head of year and then a head of section. Alongside these pastoral roles at school I took the time to complete a Masters in Psychology and a counselling qualification.

Outside of being a teacher I really enjoy being active and outdoors and playing in sports teams. I was a member of a recreational netball team and recently completed the Edinburgh Marathon. I am also a keen traveller and really enjoy spending school holidays exploring new places and new cultures. I have been lucky enough to live abroad before, growing up in Dubai, Singapore and Indonesia, and I’m excited to now be in Abu Dhabi.

BIS Abu Dhabi clearly has a sense of strong community and links with many other educational institutes around the world. I really like the idea of being a diverse and global community. I think it promotes a better understanding of how exciting and interesting other cultures and people can be.
