I am from London where I studied Chemistry at the University of Greenwich and have been teaching for 26 years, mainly in the North East of England after completing my B.Ed at The University of Sunderland. After a very successful career as a Head of Science/Head of Year, I decided, five years ago to become an international teacher and spent four years at The British School of Beijing, a Nord Anglia Education (NAE) school.
Having met many colleagues from within the NAE family of schools, from having the opportunity to be apart of the MIT and Tanzania programs, it became apparent that BIS Abu Dhabi was a very impressive, happy and fulfilling place to be.
I have a passion for school trips and have organised many extra-curricular national and international trips in all the schools I have taught in. These include trips to London, Paris, Barcelona, New York and most recently CERN in Switzerland.
Teaching internationally has been the most rewarding and fulfilling time of my career. BIS Abu Dhabi’s reputation is excellent. If I were a student again, this is where I would have liked to have gone to school.
I love and have a passion for travel and have been fortunate enough to have experienced the many different cultures the world over. I also love to cook, and have a decent collection of Jazz music on vinyl. I’m also a keen gym goer and supporter of Liverpool FC.
