I was extremely fortunate to have known from a very young age I wanted to work with young people, however, I wasn’t sure in which setting. I therefore spent the first five years of my career working with children in as many different locations and roles as possible. This included Youth Work, Social Work, and working with children who where involved in desperate circumstances. It was during this time, I decided teaching was the only vocation for me and 30 years later I can honestly and sincerely say it is the best job in the world.
Since graduating with my ICT and Sports honours degree in Liverpool I have gone on to acquire a wealth of experience, training and opportunities which enable me to do my job well and hopefully make a difference to the lives of the children I am privileged to meet. I have been to many countries, worked in a variety of schools but one thing remains the same: children are precious and need to be given every opportunity to reach and achieve their potential in a safe and happy environment.
Outside of school my passion is sport, food, music and travelling. Watching the West Indies play in Jamaica, whilst eating some fried chicken and listening to reggae music in the background really is living the dream.
