Sara shares her thoughts about completing the course and her achievements.

Celebrating our IGCSE 2020 highest achiever, Sara. Below Sara shares her thoughts about completing the course and her achievements:

How was your experience completing the two-year IGCSE courses at BIS Abu Dhabi?

The 2 year course was a challenging one to say the least. It was full of ups and downs and it was definitely an experience that has shaped who I am today. However, the opportunities BIS Abu Dhabi posed and the encouragement of the staff played a major role in my achievements and resilience. Although there were moments where I felt like giving up and cracked under the stress, the immense support around me lifted me up and gave me the strength and determination to continue. I have to thank my family in particular for this. Whenever I was huddled over a textbook working myself up over an upcoming exam, they were always there to calm me down and bring me reassurance.

I learnt a lot throughout my GCSE years, and I’m not just talking about the course material. There were so many lessons I learnt from my peers and teachers; ones that I will carry with me through the remainder of my academic career. Overall, I am eternally grateful for the quality education I received and the memories I have made.

What are you plans for the future?

This is quite a complicated question since I’m battling between several similar courses and careers. What I’ve found is that I have a strong passion for forensics, the study of the brain and human behaviour. So, I am most likely going to be drawn to studying in those fields later on. At this point in time, I am exploring my options and what I can do with the subjects I am taking at IB; I chose the topics I know I love and enjoy so I’m certain I will end up in the right place.
