Celebrating one of our outstanding IGCSE 2018 students, Solenn Le Guyon. Below Solenn shares her thoughts about completing the course and her achievements:

How was your experience doing IGCSEs in BIS Abu Dhabi?

My experience doing GCSEs at BIS Abu Dhabi was great, the teachers really helped me improve and reach the grades I achieved. The learning in class was very beneficial, and the teachers prepared me for the exams very well. Additionally, I could also ask them for any help outside of class if I was struggling with anything, which was extremely helpful if I had not understood a part of the course or had missed a class and needed to catch up. On top of that, they provided excellent revision material so that I could continue to learn and revise at home. Overall, it was a difficult but rewarding journey, and I am glad to have made it until the end.

Are you happy with your results?

I am very happy with my results, I worked hard for them and reached the results I was hoping for. Although there were moments when I was not sure that I could achieve such results, I pushed myself to try harder, and to keep going when it felt impossible. I am highly satisfied with my maths result, because at the beginning of year 10, I was not confident in the subject. With the help of my friends, my parents, and my own determination, I got an A, which I am proud of.

What are you plans for the future?

As for the future, I plan to finish the IBDP at BIS Abu Dhabi, and hopefully achieve similarly satisfying results to the ones of my IGCSEs. My chosen subjects are English, Biology and Spanish at High Level, and History, Maths and Chemistry at Standard Level. I plan to continue working as hard in these subjects as I did throughout year 10 and 11, and I hope that it pays off once again. After the end of the IB, I am as of yet unsure of what I want to study, but I know that I'd like to go to Europe, such as the UK, or France, where I am from. I am interested in areas such as law, and fields that link to languages, which I enjoy studying.
