Dear Parents and Students
One of the things that has impressed me most since I have been at NAISAK is the general kindness that exists amongst our community. It is wonderful to be part of a school where students are so polite and friendly, which I am privileged to experience every morning when greeting students as they enter the school.
One example of a random act of kindness occurred on the last day of term. Hashir Khan of 4N was in line for ice cream when he saw a Year 5 student fumble and drop his cone. In an act of incredible kindness, he went to the upset student with his own cone and offered it to him. Upon hearing this story, the Secondary students on duty at the ice cream stall rewarded Hashir with a new cone for his selflessness.
When speaking of selflessness at the school, I think of our PTFA who have been incredibly dedicated in giving their time throughout the entire year. In addition to attending monthly meetings, the PTFA have been very engaged in our school life. A few of the many activities where they have made substantial contributions to improving our school include:
Reading with individual students on a weekly basis
PTFA movie night
Supporting the school productions by making costumes and helping with the set
Working with the Student Council to identify where to donate raised funds
Working with the school to purchase playground equipment for the Foundation Stage
Making significant contributions to the school’s Strategic Development Plan
Making ‘Busy Bee’ bags for our Primary students
On behalf of the entire community, I would like to say thank you to the PTFA for all of their efforts throughout the entire year. In our meeting on Tuesday, we looked at next year’s calendar and it promises to be even more packed with PTFA events. We are looking forward to it already!
