I am from a small village in Derbyshire and I graduated in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS from Bishop Grosseteste University College in Lincoln. I have been teaching since then in two different Primary Schools, specialising in Early Years.
In my spare time I like to walk my two dogs, spend time with my family – especially my 18 year old daughter, socialising with my friends, going to the cinema, reading and keeping fit by going to the gym.
I am really excited about moving to Qatar as it has always been my dream to teach abroad. I am looking forward to gaining new experiences and having the opportunity to explore and learn.
I graduated in 2007 from Bishop Grosseteste University College in Lincoln with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS. I worked as a supply teacher before starting my first position as an NQT in a local Primary School. After I completed my first year, I was asked to stay and run the Nursery, which I transformed into a Foundation Unit to enhance learning opportunities and developed the learning environment both inside and outside. As I am extremely passionate about teaching and learning, especially learning through play, I embedded different learning styles to suit all children and developed a positive relationship with both parents and the wider community. During my teaching career I have always specialised in Early Years. I will bring my enthusiasm and positivity and I will develop a welcoming and supportive learning environment for the children in my class. During my time at my second school, I ran the Nursery and was also the Environment and PSHE Co-ordinator as well as the ‘Every Child A Talker’ leader. I believe all children are unique and they all deserve the opportunity to develop and achieve.
It has always been my dream to teach abroad. I decided to join NAISAK as I know that the school has an excellent community feel to it and a very supportive, welcoming team. I am really looking forward to being part of the NAISAK family and building positive relationships with my colleagues, parents and especially the children in my class.
I am a very positive, happy person who is always smiling and laughing. I am really interested in having the opportunity to travel more, particularly to Sri-Lanka, Thailand and Australia. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my 18 year old daughter who will be staying at home to look after our 2 Jack Russell dogs. I like socialising with my friends and visiting new places.
I can’t wait to learn new ideas and share new experiences in NAISAK. It is different to other schools I have taught in as they have only been very small Primary Schools, whereas NAISAK caters for children from all over the world and has an amazing reputation for being extremely supportive. I believe that including parents in their child’s school life is very important and I will ensure that I speak to parents regularly about their child’s development.
