My name is Tanvira Patel and I am from Lancashire, UK. I have just moved here with my husband who will be teaching Science in the Secondary School. My husband and I decided to embark upon this exciting new adventure to experience a different life abroad and to become immersed in a new culture. I love the fact that I can speak 4 languages and I hope to learn the native language in Qatar during my time here. This will be a very different experience for me as not only will I be teaching in a different country, but this will mark the beginning of my career as a full time Primary Teacher.
Before moving to Qatar I was supply teaching in two different schools. Supply teaching has taught me a range of different teaching methods and behaviour management strategies. I have grown to understand the different needs of children and I strive to meet these when they are in my care. I take pride in my ability to adapt to different educational settings and improvise accordingly.
My biggest achievement is having taught children how to enhance their confidence through realistic drawing. I have found that after hosting a workshop, the children were inspired to continue this newfound skill of drawing in a way that they never thought they could. I hope to bring these skills to NAISAK so that I can inspire more children to believe in themselves.
I am passionate about photography and I see this experience in Qatar as an opportunity to enhance my photographic skills, capturing the beautiful scenery and the ever-changing landscape.
The Global Campus is something that I am looking forward to being a part of. It will be a new experience and I hope to be able to use this platform to help children connect with other students from across the Nord Anglia family of schools.
