I hold an MA degree in English Studies from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, Poland and a teaching certification from the University of Nottingham. Before moving to Qatar I used to teach English as a foreign language to a variety of age groups and proficiency levels. Apart from teaching general language skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening, I also taught specialised language (Business English and Technical English). My pupils ranged from primary and secondary school children to university students and middle-aged professionals - those who wanted to learn English just to communicate and those who aimed to pass international exams. Following my husband, I moved to Doha in 2008. In the following year I joined Compass International School, which later became part of the Nord Anglia Education group.
I love history and always have. History is a story with the most interesting characters and plot lines. It is fascinating to follow the lives of individual people and read about the whole of humanity - different cultures and civilisations. Working as a tour guide in my home town, Cracow was a perfect occasion to share my passion for history and the city.
I would describe myself as a life-long learner who cherishes new knowledge and skills that I can subsequently apply to improve my teaching practice and personal life. Thus, even when I retire, I will still be learning new things. Maybe how to drive a truck? Who knows? For the time being, like most teachers in the coronavirus pandemic times, I am busy acquiring new computer skills.
I am excited to be joining the team of NAISAK’s committed and talented teachers. I relish the opportunity to meet the students, hoping to foster their academic and social progress. It will be a journey we will embark on together while learning from and with one another.
