Having completed a PGCE in Mathematics from Nottingham University in 2010 I have worked as a Mathematics teacher and Lead Practitioner in Mathematics at secondary schools in and around Leicestershire. I have taught at all secondary key stages and am I equally experienced teaching year 7 mathematicians as I am at teaching year 13 mathematicians. During my time as a teacher, I have always taken a keen interest in extra-curricular activities and have been lucky enough to have taken students on expeditions to Peru and Tanzania. As well as this, I have also been a Duke of Edinburgh leader for the Bronze and Silver Awards. I would like to think of myself of a considerate and patient person; who always listens and treats everyone equally and with respect. Having been a teacher for nearly 10 years I would consider myself to have invaluable experience which I look forward to sharing with everyone at NAISAK. I have always enjoyed teaching and learning about different cultures, therefore when the opportunity to teach in Qatar arose it was too difficult to turn down.
I would like to consider myself as an easy going and relaxed person who knows when there is a need to be focused and serious. From a young age I have always been very passionate about football and been lucky enough to visit many football stadiums and watch many different games in the United Kingdom and Europe. When I get the chance, I like to travel and have a keen interest in different types wildlife. I have a pet Tarantula called Thierry who is named after my favourite former Arsenal striker. I am looking forward to learning more about different football teams and football culture in Qatar and the Middle East in general.
Every school I have worked at has been unique and at each institution I have learned new things and grown as both a teacher and person. I expect my time at NAISAK to be no different, and in fact I hope to learn and grow even more than at my previous schools. Although I have travelled quite extensively, I have never had the pleasure of visiting the Middle East, therefore I am very excited to be living and working in Qatar.
