I am a huge sports fan, which is why teaching PE is a dream job for me. I love watching a variety of sports and taking part in as many as I can, especially football, volleyball and basketball. My favourite team is Wolverhampton Wanderers and I try to see them whenever I am back in the UK.
I am also keen to travel and see the world and I am lucky that, by living in Qatar with the amazing new Hamad International Airport, there are endless opportunities to visit new countries. My aspiration is to keep visiting as many new countries as possible and learning as much about the world as I can.
NAISAK has a wonderfully supportive atmosphere and its position in the ever-growing community of Al Khor offers our department a great opportunity to have a positive impact on many young people’s lives. This was a big attraction to working at this international school in particular. As part of the Nord Anglia group, NAISAK is able to offer its students an outstanding education and I am excited to be part of it.
PE is a fantastic subject to help students develop their physical, personal and social skills by working both individually and as part of a team. I am excited to be able to bring my experience to help shape the PE curriculum for all students at NAISAK. Through our lessons, students will gain a better understanding of health and fitness while developing their physical literacy, which will hopefully keep them active and healthy for the rest of their lives.
Our teachers are constantly looking to improve the curriculum for our students by learning how to teach new activities, and I am very excited to have recently qualified as a Fencing teacher. This is an activity I believe our students will enjoy greatly.
I hugely value the relationship between parents and teachers and believe that only by working together can we give each student the best possible education. With this in mind, I will always welcome communication with parents and will endeavour to use all of the school’s channels of communication to make sure they are up to date with what is happening in PE and sport.
