I began my career in education as a Learning Support Assistant at a school in London, which encouraged me to pursue teaching as a career. The reason behind this is simple: I love children and I enjoy working with them.
My academic qualifications include a Post Graduate Certificate in Art, Craft and Design Education from the University of Greenwich (UK) and a Bachelor's degree in Art/Graphics Design from London Metropolitan University (UK). My teaching practices, which have taken place in different types of schools in the UK, as well as my most recent post at Cambridge International school in Qatar, gave me excellent opportunities to teach in classrooms where I gained experience working with young people from a wide range of different backgrounds, experiences, aptitudes and needs. There have been several achievements in my teaching career including being involved in coordinating successful art events and participating students in various art competitions in my previous teaching practices.
I enjoy travelling and have had the opportunity to explore various countries in the Middle East. I’m fortunate to be able to speak Arabic. I like to read various Art and Design based magazines and books.
Being part of the teaching staff at NAISAK is an excellent opportunity. The school is professional in all aspects and has an outstanding reputation. My colleagues are friendly and supportive. The school provides excellent professional development opportunities and I believe working at NAISAK will be very beneficial to my teaching career.
I have a genuine interest in education and working with young people. More specifically, Art and Design is a subject that I am extremely passionate about and I have nurtured this passion over the course of my educational life. I believe that Art and Design offers choices and helps both students and teachers to reflect upon and make sense of what they create and what they experience visually. Because of this belief, I aim to promote and celebrate Art and Design as a subject within the school and amongst students. My goal is to not only provide outstanding Art and
Design teaching within the classroom but to also offer students other opportunities, such as participating in competitions and attending art workshops outside the school. I am an effective communicator and resourceful teacher with proven ability to enhance students’ performance through empowering them with knowledge and skills.
I am going to help students develop academically, socially and personally by encouraging them to be ambitious, to aim high and try something new this year. I will inspire students with creative, challenging and unique projects, activities and materials that engage them in their learning.
Communication and understanding between parents is very important. I plan to build a respectful, honest and collaborative relationship with my students’ parents. I will do this by communicating often and in various forms, providing information about what's going on in class and what students are learning, what they have accomplished, as well as answer any queries.
