ICT is a subject that I have been passionate about from an early age. I completed a GNVQ IT course at high school which led me to do a BTEC in Computer Maintenance at college. From there I went on to studying a degree in Computer Information Systems at the University of Liverpool, UK.
I find IT a fascinating area of study because it does not only consist of computers, but a wide variety of topics within it, such as web development, databases, software engineering, and programming. For me teaching ICT is enjoyable as it has many real world applications and nowadays it has many different formats. It was these initial experiences and passion for my subject that compounded my thirst and desire to become a teacher of ICT, and subsequently enrolled on a PGCE ICT course in 2011 at Edge Hill University.
I spent my first 5 years of teaching in the UK as an ICT/ Computer Science teacher, where I gained invaluable experience before moving onto the international stage. I have previously worked in Qatar and Kazakhstan as a Head of Year and Head of Department. I am now looking forward to returning to Qatar to be part of the NAISAK team. NAISAK is a school that aspires to be the best and I am looking forward to contributing to its continued success, and further progressing as an educator.
I have a keen interest in a variety of sports, especially football, cricket and tennis. I also enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures.
