I’m delighted to be joining NAISAK as the Director of Admissions and Marketing. Originally from the UK, I grew up in Australia and Indonesia and really identify with Third Culture Kids and the international student experience, both personally and professionally.
After graduating from Jakarta International School in Indonesia, I completed my BA (Hons) in English Studies & Philosophy, followed by my MA in International Relations at the University of Nottingham in the UK. More recently I completed my M.Ed in International Education Administration through Endicott College (USA) in Madrid, Spain.
I bring 15 years of experience in international education to my new position at NAISAK. Most recently I was the Admissions & Student Affairs Director at another international school in Qatar, prior to which I was the High School Activities Director at Jakarta International School, Indonesia. At JIS my role included organizing and managing overseas service-learning and academic trips for all high school students, hosting major conferences such as the regional Model United Nations and Debate & Forensics conventions, and coordinating all student activities and events.
Prior to working in schools, I spent a number of years working in higher education in Australia managing a range of international programs, study tours, international exchange & study abroad programs, and capacity building projects for various international audiences.
My education philosophy incorporates my love for international education and the benefits it can provide our students, not only in an academic capacity but in helping students to develop the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly globalized workplace. I firmly believe in creating an environment in which students can learn comfortably, and where they are free to make mistakes. As a lifelong learner, I encourage the passion for continued knowledge in all the students I work with, and for each child to embrace who they are, to be the best they can be.
NAISAK will be a different environment for me as I have previously worked in American curriculum schools, although I am British! I l love living in Qatar and have been here for the past 3 years. I am excited to be a part of the NAISAK community, and look forward to working with our current and new families this year.
