Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Flags and flavors of the world

Primary International Day couldn’t have happened without your support and hard work...KS1 Bubble Run will be held this Friday, along with flu vaccinations...Parent consultations are scheduled for this Tuesday and next - don’t forget to sign up

Primary School International Day

First and foremost this week is a huge thank you to all parents, children, staff and friends of the school. Last week went by in a blur of International Activities, and every day there was something to get excited about - culminating in our fantastic International Day on Friday - thought by many to be the best one of recent years.

Some things have become something of a tradition - one example being the Nursery British Tea Party which happened last week. Always a success, this year it was made even more so with a little sprinkling of “British Rain”. The children really enjoyed their baking and most of them were more than willing to share the results, with some butter, jam and a cup of tea!

Something new for this year was The Highland Games, held in Reception and hosted by Miss Isla. The Clans all competed against each other in a series of competitive activities, with a big focus on fun! It was a great morning with lots of cheering from all the mums and dads who stayed to watch.

Coming up this week

On Friday we have the KS1 Bubble Run. We will start off the morning with a warm up before repeating the Fun Run that we first held last year. As its name might suggest, there is the added excitement of bubbles and lots of stickers to encourage children as they go around the course. Year 1 and 2 will have a slightly staggered start, but the event will begin at 8am. Mums and Dads are not allowed to watch...but they are very welcome to come and join in. I am assured it won’t be too strenuous.

Also on Friday...

Our vaccination programme will begin at around 1.00pm in the Drama studio. Many parents came along today to fill in the paperwork and take advantage of the pre-payment opportunity. If you were not able to come in today, payments will also be collected on Friday.

Please make the payments before you collect your children from class. Immediately after the vaccination, children should be taken home unless you are staying in school with them for an ECA. You are requested to take an Early Leaving Slip from the vaccination station to give to the guard.

Any High School students requesting vaccinations will be brought across from High School at 2.30pm.

IMPORTANT: You will need to take the receipt with you when you get in line for the vaccination. The colour of the receipt helps the medical team to select the appropriate dosage.
