High School International Day
The High School International Day provided a truly great atmosphere of fun, food and friendship. There was a real air of excitement as the International Food Hall in the Atrium was assembled by parents representing all the different countries that make up of our wonderfully diverse student body. It was a fantastic feast enjoyed by everyone present. A really special debt of gratitude is owed to the PTG, as well as everyone who was involved in setting up the backdrops, preparing and serving the delicious food, and cleaning up behind the scenes. The selfless sharing of your time and hard work is exactly what makes the community of our school very special. I also would like to thank all the students, teachers and parents who were involved in the two dance presentations outside the atrium; one from India and the other from the Philippines. There were lots of interesting and timely discussions around the school about sustainability as a result of the unique presentation by our Senior students in the end of day’s assembly. There was no shortage of imaginative and ingenious outfits for all to see in the fashion show, a testament to all the creative work that had gone into their production.
Community Sports Day
Another successful STA Community Sports Day took place on Saturday with lots of parents and teachers coming together for an enjoyable afternoon playing sports. What made this year’s event special was the fact that participants could take advantage of the newest sports facilities of our High School. There were football, badminton and volleyball tournaments held in a competitive but very friendly atmosphere, with some nice refreshments on offer in the atrium. The children enjoyed the pool and table tennis with lots of other opportunities to play together. Thank you to everyone involved in organising and taking part in this event.
