Sport: Bringing the STA community together

St Andrews International School Bangkok's Community Sports Day was full of laughter and spirit...We’re excited about the first ever holiday sports camp taking place in December and January...Get all the updates on our Primary and High School sports teams, as well as upcoming events like NAE Games.

STA Community Sports Day

On Saturday, 18th November, we enjoyed our second Community Sports Day, with over 80 parents and staff participating in an afternoon full of laughter and plenty of competitive spirit.

We had football on the pitch at High School with four teams playing a round robin tournament that saw the staff team end as champions. In the Sports Hall, there was a badminton ladder across three courts and a fun volleyball tournament that saw the Spicey Spikers, our team of mums, definitely beat the mixed teams of staff and parents.

Meanwhile, our children were able to run around, play table tennis and enjoy a free swim in the pool.

The afternoon ended with some excellent food provided by our amazing PTG. Thank you to those parents who helped set up and serve the food (especially the indian fare and the tasty smoothies!) and to everyone who supported the event.

We’ll do the same again next term. Please join us!

St Andrews Sports Camp

We’re very excited to announce that in December and January, we’ll be hosting our first St Andrews holiday sports camp, a multi-sport camp running for two weeks during the Christmas holiday. This will be run in conjunction with Bangkok Soccer Schools and will feature a mix of activities for our Primary children to enjoy.

More details to follow by email.

Primary School Sport

Well done to all the children that participated at either the Tennis tournament at Patana or the football tournament at Harrow over the weekend. Some fantastic performances once again from our STA children.

We are at the start of a very busy period for Primary Sport. On Thursday our football teams go to Phuket for the yearly football tournament. It is one of the biggest tournaments of the year and the children get to play against the best school teams in ASIA. Best of luck to all the teams and we look forward to the brilliant STA parent support. Then we have the countdown for the Nord Anglia Games with all the teams from around Asia coming to us on the Friday 1st December.

Well done to both our U11 basketball squads who have now won their TISAC Leagues. Both teams were undefeated and played some high level basketball. The next time both the teams play will be at the NAE Games.

TISAC Basketball Tournament

The U15 Boys will be at the TISAC tournament on Saturday to close out their season, aiming for their third trophy so far.

Together with the U13 Boys winning both the TISAC League and Tournament and the U15 Girls winning the FOBISIA title, it’s been another great season for Flames Basketball.

We have our own 3on3 invitational tournament in February with some major schools and academies entering, as well as the U13 FOBISIA Games in March and the Phuket 3x3 in May to look forward to.
