Head's Lines: 06 March 2017

06 March 2017

Many thanks to all who made the Marlin Mayhem swimming event a huge success for all participants (over 500!) and spectators.

Please remember the importance of using the school ID card as you enter the school, thus helping us to maintain campus security.

The Srivikorn Campus construction is steadily moving along, with the upcoming IB Art Exhibition to serve as the school community's introduction to this impressive facility.

Marlin Mayhem

Last weekend certainly was a busy one around school with the Marlin Mayhem swimming event taking over the school for the two days.  There was a great atmosphere as 11 schools with over 500 swimmers enjoyed the competition.  This was very successful and enjoyed by all who attended.  A special thank you for all  The hard work that was put in by our PE and swim team teachers led by Khun X who really produced a first class, well organized swim meet.  I must also thank our PTG who did a fantastic job supporting the swim team’s efforts by bringing together the food, drinks, etc.,  and other businesses and groups who attended the event.  A special thank you to all the sponsors for this event in all the different ways they helped make it a really great successful event:

  • Nord Anglia Education

  • Epicure

  • Inus

  • One & All Thailand

  • Spice Roads

  • DMC Swim

  • iCamp Thailand

School Security

Recently we have been reviewing the school security and wish to remind the school community how important it is to have your family or individual school ID card in view when you are entering the school.  From this week onwards there will be two guards on duty at each entrance to check that cards are being presented and individuals are swiping cards to enter the school.  If you forget your card or have guest accompanying you into school, please sign their names into the entrance booklet with the guard, and exchange ID for a visitors pass.

Srivikorn High School Campus

I went there last week and things continue to move very fast with the roof being erected on the enlarged half of the gym.  The classrooms in this gym building are almost complete and should really allow us a great space for the International Baccalaureate Art Exhibition which will be set up on the second floor of this building and be a great way to introduce some of the facilities of this great new campus to the school community. I am really looking forward to seeing the exhibition, which is always a high point in the final run up to the final international Baccalaureate examinations which start for our graduating Class of 2017 just after Songkran holiday.  The IB Art exhibition is the final part of the IB Art and Design course which some of our senior students have been studying for the past two years.

The Srivikorn site is really opening up with the foundations of the swimming pool being completed, and the final building will be demolished in the near future to create our central sports field next to the swimming pool.
