Happy New Year!
The PTG would like to welcome families who are joining the St Andrews community this term. Students find their feet very quickly, but we realise that moving to a new school and perhaps a new country can be very daunting for the whole family and the PTG Committee is here to help in any way we can. If there is something that you are not sure about, whether it is school-related or a more general question about settling into Bangkok – please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. You can email us at ptgchair@standrews.ac.th, or you can join our Facebook community (STA PTG) or you can see what’s going on by clicking on the PTG link in Moodle.
Our first big event this term is Fun Day which will be held on Saturday, 3 February 2018 at the Primary School. Plans are well underway and we are working very closely with Estates to get as many rides and activities as possible onto the campus. It is going to be a brilliant day. Save the date and we look forward to seeing everyone there. Fun Day is the only fund-raising event the PTG holds and all money raised is then fed back into the STA community either by supporting students or organising community events. One way that we raise money is by selling raffle tickets. There will be some amazing prizes on offer so please buy plenty of tickets to stand a better chance of winning.
Lost and Found at the Primary School is run by parent volunteers. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 07.15 a.m. until about 08.30 a.m. when there will be someone there who can help. If you need to find something outside these hours, parents may take the key from the school office but please remember to lock the door and return the key once you have found what you are looking for. Students can ask their teacher to take them during break or lunch time. To make it possible to return lost items to the children, please ensure that everything that your child brings into school is clearly labelled – this includes pencil cases, drink bottles and toys. Valuable items, such as wallets, phones and glasses are taken immediately to the school office for safekeeping.
