St Andrews Presents 2018

Drama: St Andrews Presents… 2018: A huge success

St Andrews Presents … 2018 showcased the outstanding talent we have at St Andrews International School Bangkok to a sell-out crowd at the inauguration of our new theatre.

What an amazing evening we had last Wednesday at ‘St Andrews Presents… 2018’. It truly was a spectacle of creativity, thought-provoking and well-crafted theatre. The talent was so good that parents, teachers and students are still talking about it now. It was a complete sell out with over 250 seats being sold. The evening was followed by a celebration with music, food and beverages. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students, the staff who helped bring it all together and of course everyone who came to watch for your continued support.

The full video of the event will be made available soon. In the meantime, please see the evening's opening piece: a very touching tribute to Mr Simon Lawrence.

Missing in Me

This coming Wednesday February 14th we are very fortunate to be able to showcase BYTE’s new theatre piece as they complete their tour of Australia, Europe and Asia. BYTE (BackYardTheatreEnsemble) is an independent company presenting theatre from and for young people. ‘Missing in Me’ their new theatre piece is devised by an ensemble of performers and Joachim Matschoss who our Drama students really enjoyed working with last year. For this show Joachim has also collaborated with UK-based composer Matthew Ganton and Melbourne composer Ross Brooks to create the original musical score.

It tells the story of Samira and her sister Millie who are surrounded by wealth and an absence of love. Samira has just finished her schooling and tries make sense of what is ahead of her. The theatre piece deals with identity, parent-child relationships, love and what it means to be young in today’s times.
