High School: It’s the last week of the first year in our new High School

It’s the last week of our first year in our new High School, and another very busy week, full of our traditional final week of the school year events.

It was great to see so many parents at last week’s annual celebration of students’ work in the Arts and Technology EXPO 2018, which took place on Wednesday afternoon. Year 7 students conducted the Geography Peer Teaching Expo where they taught the rest of the High School about Natural Hazards, while Year 10’s Business/Enterprise work filled the Atrium on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes. All of these events highlighted the fantastic work that so many of our students have created this year. Click on the following links to read more about the Year 7 Geography Peer Teaching Expo, the Business Summer Sales Day and the recent Dragons’ Den competition.

This morning we started the last week of the school year with our annual House Basketball and Football Competitions. It was great to see so many students involved, working with their House teammates in the penultimate House competitions of the year. The results will be added to the totals from all the previous House competitions, and to all the House Point earned by students throughout the year, with this year’s House Champion being announced in Friday’s End of Year Assembly.

Before then we also have our annual Awards Assembly and Sports Awards Dinner, both on Wednesday, and the House Music Competition on Thursday, which I am sure will also be fantastic celebrations.

I would like to end the last Newsletter of this year, our first year in our new High School, by thanking all the teachers, support staff, students and parents for working together, as a Great St Andrews Community, throughout the year.

I hope that you all have a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and look forward to seeing you again in August.  I would also like to wish those students, and their families, and teachers who are leaving St Andrews at the end of the week all the best for the future.
