Primary School Sport: A video year in review

Take a look back at some of the year in sport as we get ready to celebrate a year of success at the annual Sports Awards.

So we have come to the end of another year! We just have our Sports Awards on 26 June and then we look forward to next year. Can I say a big thank you from myself and the PE/Swim team for the hard work of the children and support from the parents.

The children have trained so hard with the extra demands placed on them and the results were spectacular. The determination, resilience and love of sport shown by our STA children throughout the year has been infectious and inspiring. It has been the busiest and most rewarding year yet and we will continue to offer more opportunities for our children next year!

Enjoy a small selection of fun videos from this year:

BISP Soccer 7s and Nord Anglia Games 2018

We have some major sports competitions coming up in the first term of the new academic year. The first one is our annual trip to Phuket for the BISP Soccer 7s, which will take place from 22 - 25 November 2018. We will be taking 3 Primary teams: U9 Boys and U11 Girls/Boys. Boys’ football training will remain on Mondays and girls’ on Tuesdays. Each squad going to BISP will have 10 children.

A week later, from 29 November - 2 December, we will participate in the third NAE Games which we be held in Cambodia. The NAE Games is a 2-day sport tournament (1 day basketball/1 day teeball). There will be a basketball trial and a teeball trial (please see trial dates below). Twelve girls and twelve boys will be selected and training will take place on Wednesdays (Field) and Fridays (Arsenal, Pridi Soi 21).

Primary School Sports Awards

The tickets have been sold out and now we are looking forward to the main event. If you are a parent who would love to come and see the events please fill out the survey monkey to let us know of your attendance on the day.

Basketball Summer Camp

We’re offering 4 weeks of camp this summer for anyone in Y3-9. Ballers will be split into ability and age groups and work on their technical skill. There’ll be plenty of scrimmage time each session too! Sign-up is on Moodle as usual. Look in the left-hand column on the homepage for Bball Summer Camp.

You may sign up by the day. Drop-ins and non-STA friends will also be accepted though these are dependent on numbers each day. If you have any queries, please contact Miss Aanchal or Mr. Ollie.

Teacher Achievement

One of our very own swim teachers, Khun Nok, has been asked to represent Thailand at the 1st Asian Masters Swimming Championships in Japan from 12 - 16 July. Khun Nok will be swimming in the 100m. backstroke, 100m. breaststroke and relays.

You will probably see her training in the pool every morning in preparation. Being invited to represent your country is a fantastic achievement and we wish her all the best for the Championships.
