Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote a lifelong love of reading and a robust reading culture;
- Create a joyful, vibrant and welcoming environment in the library;
- Monitor student use and behaviour in the library;
- Play an active role in special events such as book fairs, author visits and library activities;
- Promote library materials and new arrivals to the STA community regularly;
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support literacy programmes and topics;
- Refresh library displays, layout and decorations regularly;
- Assist students, teachers, and parents in locating appropriate print and non-print resources;
- Select a diverse and multicultural range of authors and topics in the library collection;
- Provide expertise in the selection, acquisition, and organization of information and research resources and technologies in all format;
- Responsible for all aspects of the library’s circulation, including checking in and out materials;
- Responsible for the processing of (new) library materials (cataloguing, spine labels, etc.);
- Responsible for setting up and issuing the overdue notices regularly;
- Maintain the OPAC stations - Destiny Discover Catalogue on the library iPads;
- Maintain the library’s online presence (Follett Destiny experience preferred);
- Plan and manage the library budget;
- Maintain adequate supplies for the library and library activities;
- Responsible for the weeding and inventory throughout the year;
- Liaise and network with external agencies and support groups.
