Key Stage 2: Getting ready for Book Week

Book Week is coming soon, and we can’t wait to welcome Jonathan Camm to St Andrews International School Bangkok on 7 March...Little Red Riding Hood needs your help with her STEAM Project… Students are encouraged to participate in the Curious Questions Challenge...If you haven’t done so already, please complete our Leavers’ Survey.

Book Week

This year, Book Week takes place in the week beginning 25 March. We usually have a visiting author, however, this year, for a change, we will be inviting an author and illustrator - Karin Littlewood - to work with the children. As always, during the week the children will take part in a range of activities and competitions based around books. The week will finish with our annual Book Character parade. You have plenty of time to start getting creative and think of a fantastic book character costume for your children to wear for the parade.

Book Week STEAM challenge

Little Red Riding Hood needs your help… She needs to get her basket of goodies safely to Grandma’s house but she has heard that there’s a Big Bad World lurking in the forest. How could you help either Little Red Riding Hood get safely through the woods to Grandma’s house or how could you help transport the basket of goodies to Grandma’s so that she doesn’t have to enter the forest?

Jonathan Camm

On Thursday 7 March, we have a visiting author on the Primary campus - Jonathan Camm. He is an English author, writer of the wonderful 'Countdown Mysteries' series. During the day with us, Jonathan will be spending some time with each of the KS2 classes. In these sessions, he will be explaining his journey to becoming an author. He will read extracts from some of his books and he will also explain the process of how he creates his stories. Additionally, the children will have some time to ask him any questions- a very valid activity for any budding authors.

If you have already placed an order, but have not yet sent the money to the school office, please do so between Monday 4 March and Wednesday 6 March.
