Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1: Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Last week the Y6 quad was filled with the sound of children’s voices as Y1 and Y2 practiced their Christmas songs and dances. Well done to the Leopards for the first of the Christmas performances, let the shows begin! The Christmas card competition results are in… and we have more details on how to donate during this time of giving and this year’s Christmas Fair!

Christmas is coming!

Last week the Y6 quad was filled with the sound of children’s voices as Y1 and Y2 practiced their songs and dances for this year’s Christmas Shows with teachers leading the way. It already sounds great. We can’t wait to see everyone in their costumes.

Let the shows begin!

Leopards started our Christmas celebrations in brilliant fashion on Friday with their concert for parents.

The children did a great job overcoming their nerves to sing a collection of songs taught them by Ms Marie and their teachers. With some beautiful costumes and rhythmic accompaniment, it was a great way to start our Christmas Celebrations. Well done Leopards you did a great job!

Christmas Card Competition

You may have seen us promoting a global Christmas Card Competition in the newsletter recently. Well, the results are in and we are thrilled to announce that out of the six winning cards from across the world, two of them belong to STA students!

As Ms Selina explains -

Congratulations to Bokeh (1S) and Anjalika (5K) whose Christmas Card designs have been chosen by Partnership for Children to be used as their official charity Christmas e-cards. They were very impressed with the quality of all the pictures sent in from STA and said that it was a hard decision! Anjalika’s picture was chosen because it featured a lovely picture of Apple and the topical features of the face masks and ‘Stay safe’ message, and Bokeh’s design was chosen because of her great use of colour and her lovely drawings of Zippy, Leela and Tig! PSHE prizes will be on their way to 1S and 5K soon!

If you would like to use the cards and donate to the charity, the details can be found here.

The Christmas Fair - Wednesday 16th December from 2.30pm

Families who are new to STA this year might not know what a fantastic event the Christmas Fair has developed into over recent years.

Initially it was developed as a chance for Year 6 to take part in an Enterprise Project whilst earning some money for charity, but now it is a celebration of all things Christmas! Year 6 will be there organising games and activities for the younger students to enjoy, whilst the PTG have invited in a number of food and gift vendors to keep the adults entertained. As it is generally a very popular event, we advise using public transport or parking at Suk 71

or Max Value. Additional shuttle vans will be in operation to return people to Max Value and Gateway after the Fair.

This Year’s Christmas Collection
As is traditional at this time of year, our thoughts turn to people in our local community that are less fortunate than ourselves. This year more than any other there is a huge need for your generosity.

The donations are already coming in for our Christmas Charity Appeals

Reminders of ways you can contribute are below...

The Thai Department is organizing a donation opportunity for STA families to give to the less fortunate children in the north and northeast of Thailand.

These children are in need of some love and warmth. Unfortunately, they are not able to afford these necessities so we hope we are able to help them out.

If your child has any pre-loved soft toys that they no longer use, we would love to receive them to be given to these children. We ask for you to please donate toys that have been washed and cleaned.

When? - We’re accepting the soft toys from November 23rd – December 18th.

Where? - The donation box will be provided at the S block on the 2nd floor in the shared area in front of Khroo Yui’s classroom (S22).
