I'm grateful to have the opportunity and gained the confidence to challenge myself to go through obstacles and personal fears. Needless to say, getting published in a book is going to be one of my valuable experiences as a STA student. Arigatou!

Ran - Year 10
Student Highlights: Book smarts Find out how three STA students defied the odds and had their work published in a book. 17,000 students submitted an article and less than 1% of the pieces submitted were chosen. An incredible achievement!

Recently, 3 of our students submitted articles to compete in a Japanese language composition competition. If chosen, the students' pieces of work would be published in an education book. Keep reading to see how they got on...

The Japanese book title is ‘Chugakusei no Atama no Naka wo Nozoitara, Mirai ga Akaruku Narimashita; this translates to ‘Looking Inside of Junior High School Students’ Heads, the Future became Brighter’.

Over 17,000 Japanese students submitted a composition to the competition, and only 105 articles were selected for publishing. That’s 0.6% of those that submitted an article were selected!

Incredibly, 3 of our students were nominated for the final selection! To put this outstanding achievement into perspective;  over 17,000 Japanese students submitted a composition to the competition, and only 105 articles were selected for publishing. That’s 0.6% of those that submitted an article!

We would like to congratulate Ran, Mako and Noko in Year 10 for their fantastic work and success!

Here's a great photo of Ran and the published book!
