Your child's primary school experience at St. Andrews International School Bangkok begins with Key Stage 1. This stage consists of two groups, Year 1 and Year 2, which generally include students who are 6 or 7-years-old.
The Key Stage 1 curriculum is carefully constructed to build on students' strengths in the six key areas of learning and development from the Early Years Foundation Stage, giving them a firm base on which to build as they move into a more structured phase of their education. It incorporates the best practices of the English National Curriculum by creating a thematic approach where learning is integrated into child-centred activities. This helps children to absorb knowledge and improve their skills, all while developing their natural curiosity and instilling a lifelong love of learning that will help them make the most of their time at our Bangkok school.
A Rich Learning Environment for Every Child
Our teachers are mindful of multiple intelligences, including emotional intelligence, and consider multi-sensory teaching methods when it comes to planning, delivering and assessing our primary school curriculum. This makes sure we provide a stimulating learning environment in which all children have the opportunity to succeed. There is also a careful balance between academic, creative and physical activities in order to ensure our curriculum develops the whole child.
Students in Key Stage 1 enjoy specialist music, physical education, swimming, and Thai classes. At an additional cost, we offer the First Language Programme for native speakers of German, Japanese, Korean and French. Our world-class facilities help set the stage for a rich and multifaceted learning experience that will give your child the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
