St Andrews International School Bangkok was founded in 1997 on an attractive, conveniently located site which today is home to our Primary School. Today we are a school of more than 1,900 students representing some 55 nationalities ranging from Nursery (2 years) to Year 13 (18 years). In August 2017 we opened an additional campus at a nearby prime city centre location which delivers state of the art purpose-built learning facilities to our High School.
THE GROUNDS
Our two campuses offer safe and secure spaces each specially designed to accommodate the different educational and recreational needs of Primary School and High School students.
The Primary School campus offers our youngest students a natural oasis from the bustle of the city with well-manicured gardens and a welcoming, easy to traverse layout that supports the development of children through Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 all the way to Key Stage 2. At the heart of the campus is an impressive, artificial grass football pitch surrounded by trees and playgrounds. Students can stroll around Colonial-style classroom buildings to explore the many learning, sporting and other interactive activities taking place.
Beginning in Year 7, students shift over to the High School campus located right on Sukhumvit Road and walking distance away from Ekkamai BTS Station. The college-like feel and layout of the highly specialised learning areas provide the perfect environment for our older students to immerse themselves in a wide range of course offerings within the Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IB curricula. Three multi-storied buildings, with each floor specialised to a particular subject area, offer plenty of spaces for quiet individual reflection and study, while still supporting larger sports and performing arts events.
THE CLASSROOMS
Our purpose-built classrooms are equipped with SMART Board interactive whiteboards as well as data projectors linked via computers to both the Internet and St Andrews' own intranet. Classrooms are arranged around shared spaces where students can interact with each other both during and between lessons. Open work stations afford a natural environment where cooperative learning and small group discussions are commonplace. This classroom arrangement also allows the flexibility for teachers to conduct more tailored approaches to learning that address individual support needs.
RESOURCE CENTRE
Stocked with an extensive collection of non-fiction and fiction books as well as comprehensive computer research facilities, the libraries at both Primary School and High School feature premium and contemporary workspaces suited for quiet reading and self-study. Students are also encouraged to utilise media suites where they can access e-books and other educational literature.
