I am originally from Maidstone in Kent, and grew up in Germany, where I attended Frankfurt International School. In 1999 I returned to London for university, before heading to Tokyo in 2004 on my first international teaching assignment. I have worked in a variety of international schools since then. At university I earned a BA (Hons) in Art for the Community, and a PGCE in Art for Secondary Education at University of Surrey, Roehampton. I also completed a Masters degree in Digital Art at the University of the Arts London (Camberwell College).
I have been lucky enough to live and work in Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Germany, and most recently, Portugal. I am a visual arts specialist, and also have experience teaching digital design and music. I am a workshop leader and senior examiner for IBDP Visual Arts. I very much enjoy the assessment process and regularly complete examining work and moderation in all three art components as well as the extended essay. I have a strong passion for the arts and believe all students are artists in some way!
I am a practicing artist and have a strong interest in all types of art. I am a specialist in digital art, and am a recording and performing musician. I regularly work on my craft in my spare time. I also enjoy spending time with my two dogs, playing video games, watching my beloved Arsenal play (and sometimes win), and exploring nature, new cultures...and food!
Although St Andrews is quite a big school, it has a family feel, which makes me feel very welcome. I believe the emphasis on inclusion shows what a caring and nurturing school St Andrews is.
