I started my teaching career in 2012 after completing a Product Design BA (Hons) degree at Lincoln University, UK. Following this, I went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Brighton University UK. I found a passion for teaching when I was a teenager when I used to help at my mother’s primary school.
I taught in the United Kingdom for five years at a state comprehensive school in the South of England deemed ‘Outstanding in all areas’ in an OFSTED inspection in 2013. I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to do a lot of travelling, mainly around Asia. I have always had a love of South East Asia as I was born in Hong Kong.
I moved back to England at an early age but have returned frequently. I really enjoy learning and experiencing new cultures. I am very thankful that teaching has allowed me to do this, and I am excited to gain more experience in Thailand. As a teacher, I believe in an education that allows all pupils to become independent learners and develop life-long skills that, if nurtured, will enable students to develop a love and thirst for learning that will take them through both further education and into adulthood.
I use my love of technology to make my lessons relevant and engaging. I feel my passion helps to inspire and stimulate all students. In my time at St Andrews International School Bangkok, I have found the happy and friendly community atmosphere unique and the dedication of the staff and students towards learning remarkable. St Andrews ethos of a global community mirrors my own views as I believe in inclusive education for all, irrespective of a student’s background.
