Staff Profiles: Patrick Goodman

Patrick Goodman

PE Teacher

Teaching PE has been engrained on me from a very young age as I come from a family of five PE teachers. My passion for sport led me to the University of Bedfordshire where I studied my PE degree for 4 years.

During my time as a teacher I have led squads to National Championships in Rugby. I am motivated to help students become the best they can be both on and off the field of play. This has been recognised by the Youth Sports Trust, who selected a handful of my sports leaders as ambassadors for the National Talent Inspiration Programme.

My partner, Ms. Wendy, and I made the decision to move to Bangkok and haven’t looked back since. I look forward to passing on my many years of sporting experience to students of all ages at St Andrews International School Bangkok.

I am highly competitive, adventurous and ambitious, which is shown in my endeavours outside of school time. I relished the opportunity to play any sport as a youngster. My main sports are rugby, surfing, and football, where I represented Plymouth Argyle up until the age of 15.

St Andrews offers an extensive extra-curricular programme where all the students are able to access expertise coaching to help them compete and develop as players and individuals.
