Stage Presence

As the second term of the academic year draws to a close, the ASA Assembly took centre stage on Friday 23rd March. After an action-packed 8 weeks of ASAs, children were given the opportunity to showcase their talents and hard work to their peers.

  • BSB Newspaper
  • Business Brains

First to take to the stage was Mr Charlesworth’s KS2 Orchestra, who started the show with an array of instruments used to play the piece – ‘Dan the Man’. The music continued to flow, as Mr Champness’ Ukulele Club played not just one, but two pieces of music in yet another scintillating live performance. The Ukulele group performed ‘Two Suede Shoes’ and ‘I’m a Believer’ as the celebratory assembly kicked off in style!

Business Brains has been extremely popular this term, giving the children an insight into the world of business and sales. Following the ‘Egg Roll’ challenge that swept through BSB Sanlitun, Mr Allen and his Business Brains children took to the stage, handing out awards to the children who won the challenge in their classes.

Miss Perry has been working extremely hard with her Karate ASA children once again this term. The children were presented with a certificate on stage as a reward of achieving their first grade.

Next up, Mrs Ormandy’s BSB TV Presenters showed a short video demonstrating their presenting and creative talents, using digital cameras to video against a variety of backdrops.

The BSB Newspaper team, have been making their way around campus interviewing a number of teaching staff and even got the opportunity to put principal Mr Laird on the spot with a few questions. Miss Leonard has been teaching the children questioning techniques used to publish an interview transcript and article. The children were presented with certificates on stage as a reward for their contribution to the ASA.

A new addition to the ASAs this year has been the KS1 Choir. Working with Ms Iva, they were on hand to finish the celebration of ASAs by singing ‘New Beginning’.

After another successful term of ASAs we now look ahead to the final term of the year. Please stay tuned for more exciting updates regarding the ASA programme for Term 3 during the first week back after the holidays.
