Halloween

This week we have enjoyed variety of sensory activities that support development of fine motor skills. We searched for hidden creatures using tweezers in one of our messy trays.  Amongst the black and orange pasta we searched for different shapes. We were challenged to look at the similarities and differences off shapes as some of us were confident to name them independently.

We experimented with small battery led candles as part of technology and used plastic spooky Halloween cups to build with.  Some of us placed the colourful led candles inside the cups while others placed the candles on top of the cups. We were being creative in the ways we used the cups.

We were practicing our counting skills while counting out the pumpkins. There were so many that we needed to decorate and make look spooky.

Mess tray was particularly interesting. In there we had water beads, sand, shaving foam, water, leaves and rice with which we experimented. We talked about making a ‘witches’ stew’. We combine some of the above ingredients and observed the change. We noticed change in colour and texture.
