Year 5 get forceful!

12 April 2019

As part of this term’s theme of ‘Weird and Wonderful Water’, we have started to look at forces in Science.

  • Year 5 get forceful!
  • Year 5 get forceful!

Our first week back began with the children learning all about different types of force, such as gravity, water resistance, air resistance, friction and reaction force.  They have been able to identify different types of force in various real life examples and also have thought about whether these identified forces are push or pull forces.  In addition, they started to think about whether the forces acting on objects were balanced or unbalanced.

The children have enjoyed practically thinking about these forces with each other, demonstrating push and pull forces.  Later in the week, I am sure that the children will enjoy applying their knowledge of air resistance to parachute making!
