Congratulations to Dr. David Errington, BSB Secondary Mathematics Teacher, who has been awarded his PhD from Liverpool University!
Dr. Errington said “I have always been keen on Maths and Science and, following my degree in Maths and Physics at Edinburgh University, I enjoyed a year of postgraduate study at Queens' College, The University of Cambridge focusing on theoretical physics. For the last four years I have been studying a PhD at Liverpool University searching for black holes that are very structured and behave like crystals. I remain very interested in this field and hope that this will positively enhance my contribution to teaching Maths at BSB.”
Dr. Errington came from a small town in Scotland between Edinburgh and Glasgow. During 2011/2012, he spent a very enjoyable year teaching Mathematics at Harrow International School Beijing where he gained experience at all stages of secondary education including preparing senior pupils for IGCSE and A-Level examinations. He returned to Beijing in August 2016 and joined the Mathematics Department at BSB Shunyi.
Outside of work, Dr. Errington enjoys keeping fit with a number of sports. He has previously competed in swimming at the national level, but also enjoys badminton, tennis and skiing. He is looking forward to getting involved with sport at BSB and also taking advantage of the great travel opportunities that are available.
